A few years ago, I got a text from a friend who asked "Tell me this is yours". She was thumbing through Architectural Digest and bam, there it was. The article was a feature on Jon Demsey's, New York City home. "John Demsey, executive group president at the Estée Lauder Companies Inc. and the man behind the branding and direction for a handful of brands you’ve *probably* heard of, like Clinique, Bobbi Brown, Le Labo, Glamglow, Smashbox...and on, and on".
It turns out that the Red Hare was purchased at the Red Dot art venue which is one of the satellite venues associated with Art Basel in Miami, Florida. I didn't know it at the time, but it was purchased from Duane Reed gallery out of St Louis. Duane reached out to me after I posted the piece on Social Media and told me that he hand-delivered the piece.
I wrote Jon Demsey and the author of the article a personal note, thanking them for purchasing and including the piece in the article. Nothing came of it, but I'm still delighted that the Red Hare lives in such a beautiful New York City home.
I haven't made a Red Hare for a few years now, but it's nice to know that something created in small-town Utah is living in various homes and collections around the world.
